Baraka Journeys was founded in 2003 and offers in-depth journeys of approximately 25 days, 2 times annually, to destinations rarely visited by Americans. The journeys emphasize culture and include visits and meals in private homes with locals, visits with craftspeople, and a heartwarming visit to a social service organization. The journeys include 4* hotels or best located, historic and atmospheric accommodations; 3 meals a day with soft beverages and wine or beer with lunch and dinner; all tips (including for drivers, guides, porters and waiters); ample bottled water is provided frequently every day; traveler’s insurance; flights within the countries of destination; all entrance fees; all entertainment; snacks; a guide book and map; luggage tags and straps; highly qualified guides. Baraka Journeys founder and owner Christine Robison accompanies and manages each group. Small groups of 15 or less. Journey offered most frequently is Central Asia (Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan). Other journeys include Russia, Turkey, the Baltics, Burma & Cambodia, India and Sri Lanka.
